Chipotle Mexican Grill Restaurant Review: There are more than 1,450 Chipotle Mexican Grill locations spanning the globe, but the prolific burrito chain got its start in Denver, its success steeped in a simple philosophy: quality, responsibly sourced ingredients, most of them organic, rolled into a steamed flour tortilla that's wrapped in foil. Chipotle hustles everything from carnitas and adobo-marinated and grilled chicken to steak and barbacoa, or barbecued shredded pork. The chain introduced sofritas, shredded tofu braised with roasted poblano peppers and chipotle chilies, to its menu, giving vegetarians a tasty protein alternative to meat. Burritos are then graced with lime-and-cilantro-scented rice, black or pinto beans, fajita vegetables, your choice of several salsas ranging from mild to raging, sour cream, guacamole and cheese. The final product is a two-fisted beast that can cover both lunch and dinner. Chipotle also serves salads, quesadillas, tacos --- crispy or soft --- and naked burrito bowls, sans the tortilla. Wash it all back with a tangy margarita or a Mexican beer.
