Christopher's Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review: “Modern comfort food with a bit of a twist” is Christopher's middle name. With a home smack dab in the middle of Porter Square, everyone from dapper intellectuals to frat boys frequent this classic American restaurant and bar. Warm woods and dim lighting make it a comfortable venue for casual dates and group dinners alike. On weekend afternoons, grab a paper, order a local microbrew on tap and enjoy the bar scene. In the evenings, request a table and see just how far a buck can take you. As long as you're game for quesadillas, burgers and a wealth of vegetarian fare, that should be quite a distance. Get started with some buffalo tofu, fried pickles, or a Middle Eastern platter complete with feta, couscous, hummus and tabbouleh. Nachos come in all shapes and sizes, from cheddar and jack cheeses to goat cheese, guacamole and sun-dried tomatoes. We like the juicy sirloin tips and golden fish ‘n’ chips. For dessert, consider sharing the enormous fudge nut brownie sundae topped with whipped cream. |
