THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Chutneys Cuisine of India Restaurant Review

: A pleasant choice for dinner before or after an event at Seattle Center, Chutneys serves authentic Indian food in a welcoming setting. The soothing décor features carved walnut bas-reliefs of Hindu religious figures, and the service is friendly and efficient. Order curried mussels or samosas filled with spiced ground meat to start. Or try mulligatawny soup, the house specialty with a hint of lemon in its peppery depths. Tandoori dishes are cooked in mesquite charcoal-fired clay ovens and arrive with caramelized onion wedges on sizzling platters. But be forewarned, these meats can be on the dry side, so play it safe and order something saucy as well. The lamb curry rogan josh is a savory classic, and even better is jeera chicken sagwala, its tender white meat nuggets submerged in a velvety spinach cream sauce accented with cumin. Be sure to request the very good naan to mop up the sauces. On a budget? Drop in for Chutneys’ bargain lunch buffet.
