Clarke's Restaurant Restaurant Review: Clarke's has two personalities: the formal dining room and a more casual bar. The bar menu offers sophisticated treats such as blue cheese burgers, truffle fries, and a classic Caesar salad. While the dining room is small and cozy, a creative menu expands horizons with elegant dishes that are both intriguing and executed with considerable flair. Always a favorite, the seafood risotto, rich with shrimp, lobster and tomato coulis, is buttery and unctuous. Some think the veal scaloppine in a wild mushroom sauce is alone worth the drive. Beef Bourguignon is satisfying on a cold night, while razor clams are enjoyable whenever available. Vegetarians are covered, too, and always have a tasty choice, such as stuffed delicata squash. Be sure to save room for one of the rich, imaginative desserts --- it could be chocolate-banana bread pudding. There is also a fun list of cocktails, and the wine sheet offers plenty to choose from, especially among regional labels.
