The large dining room and bar of the ChopHouse occupy prime real estate in a historic building in the Warehouse District. Meanwhile, the bare-brick interior displays nostalgic posters from the Cleveland Exposition of 1937, and the all-American menu features steaks, chops and house-made beer---along with a few salads and sandwiches. Vegetarians need not panic, though, as they can find refuge in the roasted vegetable pizza or the grilled portobello sandwich. Meat-eaters, though, will have to choose between a variety of grilled favorites including a Gorgonzola filet finished with Worcestershire sauce or classic surf ānā turf---an eight-ounce filet accompanied by a buttery Maine lobster tail. For those looking to stay in the sea, the crab cakes and the tuna chop prove a solid choice. Desserts are standard steakhouse sweets: cheesecake, chocolate cake and ice cream, and the wine list is more than adequate. But beware of one thing going in: everything at the ChopHouse is oversize. That means high ceilings, big booths, large portions, huge silverware and a good-size bill for your well-portioned meal.
