Coast Cafe Restaurant Review: Coast Café isn’t pretentious; in fact, it’s one of those places that many Bostonians have never heard of --- and then stumble upon, and frequent time and time again. The tiny restaurant offers a menu that brims with well-priced, well-executed Southern specialties. Fried, barbecued or grilled chicken and barbecue ribs (pork or beef) dominate the offerings, but there’s also a nice variety of burgers, fish sandwiches and pork chops. Sides are traditional --- think collard greens, mac ‘n’ cheese and black-eyed peas with rice. Lunch specials are a steal, and include a mammoth sandwich with a side of crisp golden fries. Save room for a slice of sweet potato pie, banana pudding or a coconut wonder bar. |
