| Coast Café doesn't brag. This is one of those places that many Bostonians have never heard of---and then stumble upon, and then frequent time and time again. And for good reason. The menu brims with well-priced, well-executed Southern specialties that are tough to find in these parts. Fried chicken and barbecue ribs do the most business, but there’s also a wide variety of burgers, fish sandwiches and pork chops. Sides are traditional---think black-eyed peas, string beans and sweet potatoes. The lunch specials are a steal: $8 and change buys a mammoth sandwich with a tasty side of fries. And if you want to try the whole sweet potato pie---and really, why wouldn't you?---be sure to call a couple days ahead. |
