 Our last experience at Coast was rather disappointing; it was somewhat uninteresting and service needs improvement. The menu is very casual with American fare like hamburgers and macaroni and cheese, as well as a variety of seafood dishes including broiled halibut with asparagus and a mimosa sauce. For a lighter meal, select one of the entrée salads such as the Niçoise with seared ahi. The ocean view here is a plus but it's no excuse for not concentrating on the food, especially considering that Shutters on the Beach is one of the best hotels in Los Angeles.
