THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cobb Lane Restaurant Restaurant Review:
From the moment you step onto the old-fashioned brick paved alley leading down to the iron gate for Cobb Lane, you’ll think you’ve gone back in time. Lean back in a chair in the courtyard, where there are fresh flowers on the tables, sunlight filtering through the trees and white tablecloths billowing in the breeze. Old oak trees still shade guests at the restaurant Virginia Cobb established in 1948 as Cobb's Corner Cupboard. Service is gracious and unhurried. Classics are fried green tomatoes with Creole sauce and blue lump crab cakes over baby greens with grapefruit sections and rémoulade sauce. She-crab soup is a favorite, by the cup or bowl. Blackberry cobbler is fine, but chocolate roulade is the signature dessert and a must-try. Sunday brunch buffet offers some luncheon specialties along with breakfast offerings such as french toast, pepperjack steak omelet, quiche and pancakes. Dishes rotate frequently, especially on the dinner menu, which changes completely every month.
