This busy, upscale establishment is nearly hidden behind a Walgreen’s on Race Track Road in Northwest St. Johns County. Upon entering, the martini bar and a 1,000-bottle temperature-controlled wine cellar is to your left (featuring bottlings from New Zealand, South Africa, France, Italy, Australia, Chile and the U.S. showing value at every level and every region), the busy dining room to your right. The well-trained staff spouts off the daily specials amid friendly chatter, the wafting scents of house-made breads, sizzling Angus beef and fragrant soups. Appetizers range from spinach-artichoke fondue to a first-rate Vidalia onion soup. Entrées include a choice of salad and a side dish, most large enough to share. The Angus steaks are generous and tasty, while grilled salmon and sesame-seared ahi top the list of seafood specialties. Pastas, sandwiches and a children’s section round out the broad menu. Just when you thought you couldn’t eat another bite the server shows up with a palette of “Mini Indulgences”: small servings of chocolate mousse, pecan pie, blueberry crème brûlée and other choices too tempting to pass up.
