| This compact multi-level venue overlooking the Newport harbor is decked out in a retro-chic style that straddles the line between restaurant and vintage nightclub. The latter vibe is bolstered by the space’s use of old-school films beaming from TVs, nightly jazz, funk and soul entertainment, and classically themed American dinner options. After you grab a cocktail in the downstairs bar area, retire upstairs to either the indoor dining room or the outdoor patio, and order up a few appetizers like the ahi tower, hand-battered boneless chicken with blue cheese, or smoked sausage wrapped in puff pastry. Executive chef Jordan Evangelho does his native Boston proud with his rich and creamy crock of clam chowder. The soup sets the stage for main courses including a pork chop made with a balsamic pomegranate reduction, slow-roasted baby-back ribs, pan-seared salmon and Prime filet mignon accompanied by garlic roasted mashed potatoes. Finish your meal by inquiring about the “bucket list” cheesecake: a house-made treat with a flavor component that rotates nightly. |
