You know the saying: the higher the restaurant, the higher the prices. The high prices at the Compass keep it from joining the ranks of what are considered hot-spots, but it's still a good place to bring out-of-towners or older children for a special evening. The circular dining room---Arizona's only revolving restaurant---on the Hyatt's 24th floor offers one of the city's best views. Plates of prime rib of pork, Black Angus rib-eye or grilled swordfish may not quite live up to the scenery, but the cooking is reliable, and at times, the menu sparks some creativity with dishes, such as the white bean taquitos. |
