 You always remember your first martini bar. The Continental was the first in Philly, and it remains a Philadelphia original. The former yellow and silver diner feels more New York than Old City, drawing wannabe models and young professionals who drink the latest cocktail or any of a variety of modern martinis. There are witty fixtures of toothpick-speared olives that dangle over the booths, and the above-average global tapas include grilled octopus or orange-chili glazed calamari and lobster mashed potatoes. Dishes may also include jumbo lump crab pad thai. Wear black, you’ll blend.
