An enduring fave among the Back Bay's tequila-swilling after-work crowd, this Southwestern eatery struggles to remain relevant on the culinary front. Certainly there's as much to like about the cuisine of blue corn and green chilies now as there ever was, provided it's well-prepared. We think the Cottonwood kitchen should worry less about innovation and more about execution, which varies greatly. Skip anything that combines shellfish and cheese; stick with longtime signatures like snakebites and enchiladas instead. And, of course, go easy on the highly drinkable margaritas.
