The Counter Restaurant Review: This contemporary, sit-down burger chain with a location in Walnut Creek offers a fresh twist on the usual burger fare. From the meat (beef, turkey, chicken, cooked to order) and bun (choices include English muffins, honey-wheat rolls, or a burger in a bowl version that eliminates the bun all together) to many prepared toppings, diners carefully choose from a list of options so vast and specific it can take a while to nail down the perfect personalized creation. Even vegetarians will be impressed as The Counter’s veggie and tofu burgers are tough to beat. Roughly 30 flavorful add-on possibilities range from classic (pickle chips) to creative and surprisingly healthful (roasted corn and black bean salsa), along with ten cheeses and 17 different sauces including peanut and apricot. Good beers on tap and a wine list up the attraction for dates as well as families. |
