The Country Club Restaurant Review

: You don't have to play golf to dine at Wynn's golf club restaurant. Dominating its entrance is an elegant lounge furnished with plush couches and chairs. The dining room is equally relaxing, and the patio overlooks the 18th hole, complete with a waterfall and lush landscaping, romantically lit after dark. Popular lunch, dinner and brunch appetizers include shrimp and grits --- sautéed shrimp, creamy Anson Mills grits and shrimp gravy; and sweet corn chowder with aromatic vegetables. Among lunch entrées, we like the Black Angus sirloin burger (also served for brunch) and the open-face French dip sandwich of prime rib topped with Gruyère and mustard cream. Dinner highlights are the seared Maine sea scallops with tangerine emulsion, a 14-ounce veal porterhouse, and a 20-ounce rib chop. At brunch, poached eggs with smoked pork on bacon and cheese muffins are topped with green chile hollandaise sauce. (Note: Rene Lenger is now the chef.) Dark chocolate bread pudding with Nutella, vanilla bean whipped cream and chocolate sauce is a fine sweet finale.
