| The "hey y'all come in" sign beckoning you into this country music steakhouse tells it all. Inside, metal signs advertise Texas Cattle Crossings and warn "Spitting on Sidewalks Is Prohibited." Bathroom stalls are separated with rusting, corrugated barn roofing. It's a fun place that does a great job at what it serves---USDA choice strip steaks, rib-eyes and filets. There is chicken and fish for guests who don't do meat. Ribs taste oven-cooked, so rely on the thick, sweet Midwestern-style sauce for flavor. Half-pound char-grilled hamburgers are juicy, cooked to your taste and served on a soft homemade bun. Kids get their own menu. Good weather means a large crowd on the patio. |
