Cracked Crab Restaurant Review: Not surprisingly, crab is the big draw --- specifically a big bucket of it boiled up and dumped on your table along with sausage, potatoes and corn. And, yes, you’ll be outfitted with a bib and all the appropriate tools. You get your choice of three shellfish items, which vary according to season and availability; the crab might include Dungeness, Opilio or Bairdi, while other options might be mussels, wild shrimp or lobster. When we’re not in the mood to play with our food, we like the fish tacos (the best deal on the menu), steamed clams with lots of sourdough for sopping, the spicy seafood gumbo, and any of the fresh fish entrées, which might be local salmon with hollandaise and basmati rice. Non-fish fans can tuck into a hearty burger, chicken beurre blanc or filet mignon. There’s a good local wine list and if you have room for one of the decadent desserts, we’d recommend the Key lime pie. |
