 This warm, inviting room in the chic South Granville neighborhood has become a haven for novice and expert oenophiles alike. Selections from chef Alana Peckham’s sharply executed small plates and prix-fixe menus are color coded to pair seamlessly with descriptions on owner/sommelier Mark Taylor’s wine list --- think “crisp”, “luscious”, “juicy” or “smooth” --- 35 wines and all available by the glass. Peckham’s three-course set menu is a steal at $39. Caesar salad is elevated with a quick grilling that imparts a hint of smoke and made-to-order croutons. We also like the duo’s duck confit with its crackling skin and a hint of vinegar to balance the rich, meaty flavor. Syrah-braised beef short rib with macaroni and cheese is another favorite with the regulars. Be sure to save room for the sweet-and-savory little goat cheese cheesecake graced with seasonal fruit confit.
