When contemplating a visit to Cupola Pizzeria you may wonder: How good can a meal in the mall really be, even if it is the upscale Westfield? The answer is: very good. Cupola Pizzeria shines with Italian modernity. A glossy red table seats large groups, clear lacquer light fixtures sparkle, mirrored walls offer a clandestine peek at what others eat. And eat you must. While contemplating the menu, try the pulled-to-order mozzarella, delivered warm in a pool of olive oil, sweet tomatoes and basil, with thin crisped bread for dipping. An arugula salad accented with strips of preserved lemon, red onion and a line of fried calamari is enough for a light meal. The pizzas arrive hot, with thin, crunchy-yet-chewy crusts. Basic pies are impressive, but we also recommend the Zucca, with squash blossoms, zucchini, almonds, mint and mascarpone. The roast of the day (slow roasted pork with braised beans and polenta) begged for a glass of Chianti and a slowing of time. For dessert, spumoni was delivered with a claret sauce; plump blackberries arrived in a frothy zabaglione.
