Da Edoardo Ristorante & Trattoria Restaurant Review: The two-sided restaurant offers casual dining in the trattoria, and a more formal array of dishes in the ristorante that wraps diners in plush banquettes and soothes with service. Each has its own entrance in the red brick Tudor-style building, and each its own clientele, from families in the informal room to couples celebrating occasions in the more romantic restaurant. The Italian fare runs the gamut from thin-crusted pizzas and pasta dishes like cannelloni and lasagna in the trattoria, to richly sauced veal and seafood selections typified by medallions of veal with white wine and baby artichoke hearts and char-grilled Provimi veal chops in the formal dining room, all in the hands of the Edoardo Barbieri family, longtime restaurateurs now into the third generation. Steaks and chops are hand-cut, aged USDA Prime. The wine list is Italian and Californian except for French Champagne, and includes some nice by the glass selections such as the Chianti Colli Senesi, several Pinot Grigios and Chardonnays.
