Dali Restaurant & Tapas Bar Restaurant Review: The wild and sexy spirit of Barcelona permeates this party of a Spanish tapas bar on the Somerville-Cambridge border. Ristras and jewelry hang from the ceiling. Ornately tiled tables are tucked into every little corner of the three den-like dining rooms. Sangría, sherry, and cava all flow freely. Large parties order a porron, a communal bottle of white wine. Waitstaff is as much a part of the excitement as the food and diners themselves, their rolled r’s as seductive as the ever-present scent of garlic. Tapas number in the dozens and sure bets include the potatoes in a garlic-caper aïoli, ceviche, cured ham and marinated olives; seasonal specials like tuna-stuffed squid keep the menu fresh and interesting. (Entrées are serviceable but beside the point since tapas is the name of the game.) Consider sharing small plates of braised rabbit, boneless pheasant, roast duckling and marinated quail, too. For dessert, the fried churros with dulce de leche are hard to resist.
