This clubby, upscale Northern Italian steakhouse combines the best of two worlds: some of the finest steaks in town and pasta specialties such as drunken pappardelle with beef short ribs and penne dressed with apple wood-smoked chicken and spinach. The $49 three-course menu, with a surf ā€˜n’ turf as the main event, is a good value. The Federalist setting (the original Provident Bank) is elegantly severe, but the welcome from the staff is always warm. The bar is a destination for the dark-suit crowd with $5 munchies available from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
