Deanie's Seafood Restaurant Review: Deanie’s is one of those local joints that excel in fried seafood and ice cold beer. The very first seafood market in Bucktown, once a quaint fishing village just outside New Orleans, Deanie’s is a haven for fried oysters, shrimp and crab. They all impart the same flavors, but that's the Deanie's style. Replete with familiarity, dishes include po' boys, platters and salads decked with still more fried seafood. Finish off your meal with a coconut custard pudding or a nectar soda float with vanilla ice cream. Squealing babies and catch-as-catch-can service come with dinner, but where else does the server approach the table with a bowl of hot and spicy boiled potatoes, even before you order your drink? There's another location in the French Quarter, but nothing beats the original.
