![]() DeJohn's Restaurant Review: Occupying two stories of an historic brownstone on Lark Street, DeJohn's is a fun place to enjoy drinks and dinner. The ground floor, a long and festively lit room, houses a handsome and often bustling bar, and leads back to an intimate outdoor dining patio. The upper level overlooks the street and, aided by mirrors, has a more open feel. The menu is filled with commonly seen dishes enlivened by the addition of one or two bolder flavors (most often ginger, mushrooms or a strong cheese), rich cream sauces and sweet glazes. That said, sometimes a comfortable dish is just the thing. The Gorgonzola and cracked black pepper sirloin topped with crispy fried onions fills this basic-but-good role admirably. On the lighter side, try the tuna, pan-seared with Orange Mountain rub and garnished with wasabi oil. |
