This trendy choose-your-own-food chain has a lot going for it---primarily a large grill heated to 425 degrees in the center of the restaurant. There are lots of windows with a view of downtown streets, plain panes mixed with brightly colored ones. Techno and rock music pulses overhead and sunburst sculptures hang from the ceiling. It all suggests a quick meal, which is fine. This dish is ideally located in the city's new BayWalk entertainment complex, complete with a 20-screen multi-plex. Here, customers gather up their veggies and meats from an array of choices, then choose a sauce, and turn all of this over to cooks who sauté the food in sauce. There are at least 14 sauce choices each day, from sesame-orange and mango-pineapple to garlic-Parmesan. The lemon-curry sauce is a perennial favorite. Logos of flaming bowls indicate how hot a sauce may be. The grilling takes about five minutes, and each meal comes with complimentary white rice and tortilla bread. As a pre- or post-flick feed, this dish is a welcome addition to downtown.
