Go for the ribs and the overstuffed potato, but save room for a slice of homemade pie.

Dixie Bones draws customers from far and wide; you'll see its highway sign driving up or down I 95S. The menu includes pork, beef and catfish sandwiches and platters of pork, chicken, beef, catfish and rib racks with assorted sides. We recommend the ribs with a side of greens and Muddy Spuds (a baked potato that’s been chopped into small pieces and seasoned with barbecue sauce). Owner Nelson Head proudly asserts that his meat is hickory-smoked over logs for 12 to 14 hours. The cooks are busy, because they also make all the pies and concoct their own barbecue sauce that runs to mild and in various other degrees of heat. Save room for pie; the pecan pie is a killer. Décor? Patriotic and all things pig.
