Dixie Supply Bakery & Cafe Restaurant Review: With its tiny kitchen, this storefront operation isn't much to look at from the outside, but don't be quick to write off this gem of low country dining. What's the best dish? The tomato pie. The shrimp and grits, blue-plate specials, the Dixie burger and some of the sweetest tea ever concocted are additional highlights. Chef Patrick Woodham does date night dinners once a month and sometimes welcomes diners to themed prix-fixe dinners, especially at holiday times. His wife, Miranda, serves as pastry chef. The menu for the Friday dinner, a true chef’s table experience, changes according to the day’s market, and has included dishes such as ratatouille ravioli with pink-eyed peas. At breakfast and lunch, patrons order at the counter, but at dinner on Fridays, full table service is the norm. |
