DJ's Bistro Restaurant Review: Restaurants like DJ's bring to mind the concept of an oasis. Located in a strip mall near two busy boulevards in Concord, DJ's is not a chain, not ersatz Italian or Mexican. Instead it's a down-home German-Czech restaurant where you can get a fairly priced, tasty meal. Anything fried, like the chicken or veal cutlets --- and even that rare marvel, deep-fried cheese --- is well executed. Light sauces nap the meats, while the accompanying red cabbage is tangy. Other favorites are the goulash or the roast pork. If you opt for soup or salad, note that the goulash soup is quite filling. |
