| Owners Nadereh Fanaenian and Farzin Tayefeh have created a warm and inviting University Heights space that includes a restaurant, lounge and hookah bar complemented by festive belly dancing. The menu features East-meets-West cuisine (aka Middle Eastern with a California twist). Chef Cecilia Tajonar‘s entrées include tender, yogurt-marinated kebabs of lamb, beef or tofu, ta chin chicken (baked in browned, crispy saffron rice with barberries and raisins), and a variety of fish and vegetable tagines à la Morocco. Ambient music and candlelight set the sultry mood for finger foods and dips such as hummus made with caramelized onions, silky eggplant and tomato baba ghanouj and a crispy trio of fries with creamy Gorgonzola. |
