Doc’s Sports Retreat Restaurant Review: "Doc" is a former U.S. National Team weightlifter and confirmed sports addict, who often chats with patrons at the booths, tables and counters of this large restaurant devoted to all things sports, all the time, as evidenced by its 100-plus flat screen TVs. There are even small TVs at each booth. We always lead off with nachos, either chicken or ground beef atop tortilla chips with olives, onions, avocados, jalapeños and cheddar-jack cheese. Pizzas hit a home run as well (try the margherita). Among sandwiches, we recommend the French dip and the Reuben, made with turkey breast in place of corned beef. Top entrées include bourbon-glazed salmon and smoky baby-back ribs. Prime rib makes the cut on weekends. Over two dozen beers are available on tap, and cocktails include the Brazilian cosmo, Absolut Mango, Cointreau, lime, and cranberry and orange juices. |
