Dolores Restaurant & Bakery has been an L.A. landmark for years. In the 1940s, Ralph and Amanda Stephens opened a small chain of restaurants named after their daughter, and this is the last surviving location. Colorful license plates are posted on the walls, and vinyl chairs line the bar in a coffeeshop-style setup. Breakfast is served all day, featuring pancakes, waffles and egg dishes like the “West L.A.” omelet made with spinach, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese. The rest of the lengthy menu offers soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, pastas and diner staples like meatloaf and fried chicken.
