In the subterranean cocktail den Double A, bartenders put on a show at the "mixologist's table" (similar to a chef's table), where imbibers can hand-select ingredients or choose from the inventive list of cocktails or wide selection of tequilas. Until 9 p.m., guests can order items off the menu from Mercadito upstairs, such as ceviches, tacos and botanas (appetizers). Must-have tacos include beer-battered mahi mahi with Mexican slaw and tongue-tingling chipotle aïoli; braised short rib tacos with mole-q sauce; and hongos tacos filled with wild mushrooms, manchego, bracing salsa verde and huitlacoche (a corn fungus that has an assertively earthy charm similar to truffles).
