A few years ago, Westside Natural Foods was bought by Down To Earth, Hawaii's largest natural-foods chain, but things haven't changed much---which is a good thing. You'll still find a knockout selection of fresh, healthy, organic and vegetarian grinds. A terrific salad bar includes an array of delicious house-made dressings, and there's also a hot-food bar (with rotating dishes like vegetarian lasagna and teriyaki tofu), a deli, and juice bar. Sandwiches, such as veggie BLTs, can be had on gluten-free rice bread. For the best lunch selection, get there before noon. You can sit inside in the air conditioning or out on the few tables with benches.
