| This casual restaurant, lounge and dance spot inside The Balboa Bay Club & Resort is an ode to Newport Beach’s most celebrated former resident, actor John Wayne. The menu takes some items from the resort’s fine dining restaurant, First Cabin, and also throws in a few pub-like dishes. You can, for example, start with the high-brow beef tenderloin steak tartare or enjoy the more casual marinated buffalo mozzarella. The entrées favor Americana, such as the burger with grilled onions and Thousand Island dressing, a classic chicken Caesar salad or the New York strip steak sandwich. Not everyone comes for the food. Strong drinks, nightly live jazz and the large dance floor lure those who have dined elsewhere. |
