| This tiny restaurant near Tufts University goes above and beyond the call for any neighborhood Asian joint. The boxy, mirror-lined dining room's half-dozen tables are filled nightly by hungry undergrads and the local starving-artist population. The kitchen offers the usual laundry list of Northern Chinese and Thai basics, yet cooks them with verve and impressively fresh ingredients. The results are bolder flavors with surprising complexity. Chili eggplant is a grand slam of a dish, and dumplings are delicate triumphs, both in Chinese and Thai versions. The seafood dishes, like dancing squid, are prepared with equally notable aplomb. |
