THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED East Japan Hibachi, Sushi & Bar Restaurant Review: This 3,000-square-foot space, complete with a separate grill area, central dining room and sushi bar, offers a comprehensive traditional Japanese dining experience, serving hibachi specialties, innovative sushi, noodles and other Japanese fare. High-ceilings, geometrically arranged tables and chairs, light wood wall paneling and beams above complete the spacious atmosphere where diners, depending on their preference for the evening, can enjoy well prepared cuisine in either room. Those opting for hibachi specialties can watch their grill selections prepared by one of the chefs stationed at each table. Among the seafood and meat dishes, the EJ Delight, a tender and flavorful steak, chicken and shrimp combination, gives you a taste of both. Among the hot appetizers, the ika maruyaki, grilled whole squid with ginger sauce, preserves the natural sweet flavor of the squid with just a touch of salt; the sourness of the ginger sauce makes it a nice accompaniment. Diners favoring sushi and cold specialties will enjoy the pepper tuna, chopped spicy tuna and tobiko with wasabi sauce, as a precursor to the O My Roll, an inventive combination of spicy tuna and tempura flakes, topped with yellowtail, salmon and shrimp.
