Eastland Cafe Restaurant Review: Owners Willy and Yvette Thomas, who also operate Park Café on the other side of the river, have succeeded in gracing East Nashville with this neighborhood restaurant. Start with a local-cheese plate, drawing from creameries not far from Music City. Graduate to a Hereford strip steak, from beef raised in-state, or perhaps pan-seared Gulf shrimp with a coconut-ginger crêpe and basil-cilantro slaw. Do not miss the green chili mac ‘n’ cheese, offered at both of the owners’ restaurants for good reason. For dessert, the fried apple is consistently good, but the blueberry beignets with white chocolate sauce are even better. The wine list offers plenty of seriously silky selections, not many above $50 a bottle.
