| Eastside Marketplace is Providence's answer to Dean & Deluca or Whole Foods, minus the snob factor, set in a parking lot. Sound odd? It won't once you’re feasting on a rotisserie chicken painted with lemon and pepper for $7.99, or ogling the sushi chefs as they roll and slice salmon maki and some of the best veggie rolls in town. Eastside is nothing if not an embarrassment of riches at poor man's prices: $5.99 for a chicken sandwich on a baguette, soups for $4.99 a pound and so forth. The $6.99 meal of the day includes an entrée, vegetable and starch. |
