| An orchid water fountain is situated just inside the front entryway of EBT; a small dance floor inhabits the bar area, where live jazz is featured several nights a week. Eight private booths add even more intimacy and romance at a restaurant long considered Kansas City's special occasion destination. Executive chef Tate Roberts is continuing with tableside preparations, including Caesar salad, peppercorn beef tenderloin and bananas Foster. However, he also has updated the menu with a slew of dishes. Among the most appetizing: a starter of tortilla-crusted sea scallops as well as grilled escolar with apple-cabbage slaw, cherry wood-smoked duck breast with almond jasmine rice, and a mixed grill with lamb chops, petite filet and sautéed shrimp. Be sure to check out the comprehensive wine list---if you're lucky, it will include lovely Merry Edwards Pinot Noir. |
