 A posh steak and seafood house, Eddie Merlot’s exudes a charm that welcomes diners with high ceilings, an elegant wall of windows, warm orange hues and glittering chandeliers. A temperature-controlled wine cellar is visible behind a wall of glass, and the Prime rib-eye with a choice of sauce enhancements is a standout dish. If surf is the choice, pan-roasted sea bass with a maple-inflected vinaigrette is the way to go. Plush seating is an added perk that entices guests to linger over coffee and Cognac. When doing so, try the bananas Foster --- a fitting ending to a lovely meal.
