 El Vez Restaurant Review: El Vez is fantasia Mexicana with wild décor, including a gold-plated low-rider and tableside guacamole. The music blares, the bar scene draws the young and good-looking, the food is tasty and the margaritas are potent. Offerings include sweet corn soup with huitlacoche, cactus and crab salad, tacos of mahi mahi, duck confit flautas and a fresh selection of ceviches. The slow-roasted pork tacos spiked with jalapeños are a must. If you can't choose, the taco tasting platter makes life easy. Try sopapillas for dessert or even better, the big Mexican banana split with chipotle-soaked cherries, canella cream and spiced hazelnuts. It's more Cadillac Bar than Margaritaville, but you'll like it. The outside dining scene is also fun in warm weather. |
