Elephant Thai Restaurant Restaurant Review:

With Elephant Thai’s footprint practically on Virginia Commonwealth University’s Monroe Park campus, you may feel like you should earn transfer credits for eating its roasted duck basil, pad thai, and red, yellow and green curry dishes. What you will be rewarded with is the good balance between casual and elegant. Service is warm and friendly, and the Thai food is too good to forget, and there’s a sushi bar with nigiri/sashimi and traditional/vegetarian maki to mix things up a bit. All are reasonably priced, so college students don’t have to wait for mom and dad to visit to take them here. While you try to decide between one of the meat or seafood selections, such as pad see eaw (chicken, pork, beef, shrimp or seafood stir-fried with flat rice noodles, eggs and broccoli in the chef’s special sauce); crispy soft shell crab in season topped with ground shrimp in garlic sauce; or one of many vegetarian items, sip on a smoothie or frappe (unless you’re saving your sweet tooth for coconut pie or mango and sticky rice for dessert). Elephant Thai makes a lovely choice for a casual lunch or dinner date. If your love life rates three asterisks (what ET’s menu uses to indicate very hot vis-à-vis one for medium and two for hot), you just might want to take advantage of take-out or delivery.
