Elie's Restaurant Review: When we’re in need of a fresh fruit juice fix, we head to Elie’s juice bar for The Energizer, a blend of strawberries, banana, honey, raspberries, pineapple, milk and ice. Or, we mix and match fresh fruits and veggies, like apples, carrots, celery and beets, for a healthy lunchtime pick-me-up. But Elie’s, known for its people-watching sidewalk tables, is deservedly proud of its Middle Eastern fare. The menu lists staples like hummus, shish kebab and chicken shwarma, but also offers a portobello mushroom sandwich that smacks of garlic, balsamic vinegar and white wine. There's also steak Diane and sautéed perch. Music enlivens the small space on weekend evenings during summer. There's a fully stocked bar featuring Lebanese beer, wine and spirits as well as martinis and other cocktails. |
