THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Emeril's Delmonico Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant and décor: Emeril Lagasse poured more than a few million dollars into transforming this primly elegant, hundred-year-old Creole restaurant into a fantasy of glitz and plush as befits his showman's legacy. New Orleans is a casual town, but you can get dressed up for Delmonico, and plan to linger.

About the food & drinks: Creole classics rule the menu at Emeril's Delmonico, but don't be surprised by a good bit of the modern-day snap for which Emeril is known. Chef Anthony Scanio oversees all, and keeps the place adventurous. Appetizer standouts include house-made charcuterie and barbecued shrimp. Entrées might range from pecan glazed lamb loin with braised kale and black-eyed peas to a traditional chicken Clemenceau with ham, portobello mushrooms, sugar snap peas and béarnaise sauce. Steak options include a bone-in rib-eye and in-house dry-aged New York strip. For dessert, you'll find traditional bananas Foster, chicory coffee crème brûlée and rum chocolate pudding. The wine list is complex and takes time to peruse, typical of Lagasse's fine dining restaurants. Happy hour (daily 5 p.m.-7 p.m.) presents a creative bar menu and specially priced cocktails.
