 The Epicurean Bistro & Wine Bar Restaurant Review: Co-owner Claire Pogue is a French-Canadian who likes to host dinners. Husband and partner Sandy Pogue is a wine connoisseur with a passion for French vintages. Chef Dominique Brialy is from France and has the innate love of wine and food for which his culture is known. The combination results in warmth, comfort and enjoyment. Brialy’s forte is simplicity, with classically prepared dishes, and great attention to detail. His frog’s legs are garlicky and buttery, easily flaked with a fork while sweetbreads with tiny bits of chanterelle mushrooms are tender, nutty and tempting even for those uninspired by organ meats. The swordfish is lightly touched with a dash of fresh greens and seasoned just enough to complement the sweet flesh. Brialy specializes in fruit tarts and classic cream desserts, with a nice alternative of artisanal or domestic cheese boards served with warm nuts, fresh fruits and imported crackers. |
