 Different ownership has created a fresh ambience at this comfortable restaurant nestled on a quiet back road. Now with the looks and manners of a sophisticated country club, Esty Street offers modern ideas about American food. While personal and unique, it is also cognizant of the impact of the many cultures that call America home. You’ll find Asian, continental, and Hispanic and American regional echoes in many dishes. There is also creative light and healthful fare in nightly specials called “nourishing traditions.” A first bite of warm crusty roll dipped into a vibrant puddle of fresh arugula pesto tells the tale confirmed over and over. The house’s signature dish is lobster Caesar salad. In season, braised caramelized squash ravioli is a delight. Steaks and chops are treated with the same respect and verve as any steakhouse. Endings are especially sweet courtesy of a pastry chef who knows a thing or two about big, beautiful desserts; try the Montrachet “brûlée” cheesecake. Menu selections are matched with a carefully chosen wine list.
