THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Eva Ristorante Restaurant Review:

Chef/Owner Sandra Russo has personality to spare and her North End restaurant, Eva, more than proves that fact. The black-and-white checkered floor, flattering light, and fruit and vegetable still lives make for an atmospheric setting. While the robust flavors of the Italian peninsula play lead, Mediterranean ingredients provide some back up, and a booster shot of American creativity makes for food that can be strikingly modern. Salmon potato cakes taste punchy in a creamy dill sauce. Mussels are steamed with garlic and a scallion-infused buttermilk that is downright cloying. Roast duckling lounges in a plum, fig, and ginger compote that’s cacophonous. We hope the kitchen finds the cruise control sooner than later. For now the food can be a bit of a dead end.
