Restaurateur Matt Fisher has a thing for romantic-sounding women’s names and---along with executive chef Troy Graves---playful contemporary American cuisine. Cases in point: Lincoln Square’s Tallulah, and his restaurant Eve, located downtown. A bit more formal than its older sibling---here expect dark wood floors, chic white leather chairs, mod chandeliers, glass mosaic tiles---Eve features refined twists on classic dishes, such as a flavorful BLT made with crab and crisp pancetta, a Prime Angus burger topped with foie gras, and lobster sausage with chanterelles. Its proximity to the Gold Coast shopping district makes it a fine pit stop for lunch, while its soothing environs mean it's also a good spot to unwind after work or grab a cocktail at the back-lit alabaster bar.
