Everest on Grand Restaurant Review: Still haven't let that dream of becoming a Sherpa go? Think you need some advance training before committing to the escalation of Everest? Well, now you have a place to go whilst ruminating on what might be. Everest on Grand is the first Nepalese restaurant in the Twin Cities. Taking over the spot formerly occupied by Pasqual's, the owners of Everest did little more to the décor than hang photos of Nepal and The Mountain. But the food is dead-on authentic. The samosas (try the potato-pea variation) and pakoras are traditional finger foods made with aromatic herbs and spices that wake up the taste buds. We recommend the steamed dumplings known as momos. Choose from fillings like the ground chicken and onion combo, or for the culinarily adventuresome, the spiced, ground yak. All are served with cilantro-based sauce. Another good bet is to order the daal-bhaat (complete dinners) featured on the back of the menu. For a fair price you get a sampling of many dishes including Himalayan rice, curries, soup and dessert. |
