| Cafeteria-style service is usually designed to flow smoothly, gently easing a large number of people through the line and off to their tables. Not at Fadi's. When you walk in the door, you walk smack dab into the front of the line, then have to figure out how to wiggle your way to the back of the line and wait your rightful turn. Wacky, but the price is right, the food is pretty good and the modern Middle Eastern décor is rather alluring. The most successful items on the menu are the sampler platters, heaped with hummus, baba ghanouj, dolmas, various salads, a lightly fried cauliflower and freshly baked pita bread with your choice of meat. Stick with grilled-to-order kebabs; baked and stewed chicken and lamb dishes fall below expectations. Since it's BYOB, (there's a liquor store conveniently located across the parking lot), dining at Fadi's is a low-cost way to have a night out. |
